2024 APDG Award Winner: Emerging Designer (Set)

Hideki Noda’s satirical adaptation of Richard III sees William Shakespeare get put on trial. Jumping between the Battle of Bosworth, a court room and the ‘Ikebana flower world’, the set design was inspired by the writing of philosopher Nikolai Fyodorov. Set in a transformative museum diorama where the past and present simultaneously exist, it explored the value society places on artefacts of culture and the manipulation of history.
